Top cornerback prospect Derek Stingley Jr. will not workout at the NFL Draft Combine, which starts Tuesday and runs through next Monday.Stingley is still recovering from a left foot Lisfranc injury he had surgery on in early October, ending his junior season after just three games. The typical recovery timeline for a Lisfranc injury ranges from 6-9 months, said Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc. Stingley is at just under 5 months now and may not be fully ready at his Pro Day on April 6, Chao said. The news of him not participating in drills at the combine makes sense and he still has a tight timeline to be ready for his Pro Day, Chao said. He may not be full-go by early April.Stingley is the No. 1 cornerback off the board in most mock drafts and projects as a Top-10 pick.He was a consensus All-American in his freshman year at LSU, when he led the SEC in interceptions (6) and passes defended (15).The 20-year-old played 7 games in 2020 and just 3 games last season. He forced 27 incompletions in his first two seasons and allowed just 1 catch for more 20 yards in 2020.
