Wide Receiver Robert Woods Working Out at Titans' OTAs, 6 Months After ACL Tear

Former Rams wide receiver Robert Woods was spotted at the Tennessee Titans' organized team activities for a second straight day Tuesday, a positive step in his recovery from a torn left knee ACL last November.

Woods appeared to participate in a full spectrum of wide receiver drills, but wore a brace on his surgically repaired left knee.

As our panel of Pro Football Docs indicated in late March, the Titans are likely willing to play the long game with Woods' recovery. Tennessee swapped a 2023 sixth round pick for Woods, who is owed $10 million this season and is under contract through 2025.

Woods, via the team website, said he feels the team is taking it slow with his ACL recovery.

“I actually feel like they’re kind of holding me back a little bit,” Woods said, via the team’s website. “I am trying to get back as well as I can, just doing everything [trainer] Todd Toriscelli has me doing, trying to stay focused and be patient with it."

Tennessee took a similar approach with defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, who tore his ACL before the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Titans still drafted him with the 19th overall pick and he returned to play in nine games that season, finishing with 32 combined tackles and 2 sacks.

In this year's draft, the team drafted Treylon Burks with the 18th pick. Burks tore an ACL in high school, but he clearly wasn't slowed by it in his tenure at Arkansas. He finished with 66 catches for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
