Why Derrick Henry is Primed For a Bounce Back Season

Derrick Henry - SIC Score 94

Titans superstar running back and consistent fantasy performer Derrick Henry had a rare down season last year.

After two straight seasons leading the league in rushes, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and rushing yards per game; a “Jones” fracture in his right foot kept him out for the second half of last season.

He still finished the 2021 campaign with the sixth most rushing touchdowns in the league (10), despite playing in just 8 games.

The good news for the Titans and Derrick Henry alike: his Oct. 31 injury looks to be completely behind him.

As Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc, breaks below, Henry is now able to make decisive cuts uphill with his previously injured right foot.

Henry carries a SIC score of 94, heading into training camp and that number is liable to increase as more Henry video emerges.

The 28-year-old two-time Pro Bowler is the current favorite to win Comeback Player of the Year, at +350, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Henry is also at +5000 for MVP and +1000 for AP Offensive Player of the Year, on a team that traded away A.J. Brown and has its top projected wide receiver recovering from an ACL tear.

The former Alabama rusher has an ADP of 5 in redraft leagues, according to Fantasy Pros, but his expert consensus ranking is 2.

Medically, he should not be faded in any league or format.
