Why Antonio Gibson Carries High SIC Score But Low Fantasy Value

Antonio Gibson - SIC Score 94
Washington Commanders RB Antonio Gibson is entering his third NFL season, and has already dealt with a lot of injuries. However, Gibson is as tough as they come, and comes into 2022 with an SIC health score of a 94.
Gibson only missed one game in 2021 due to COVID-19 protocols.
Injury History
On Sept. 26, Gibson suffered a stress fracture in his shin, but limited solutions in-season meant he had to manage and play through.
On Oct. 17 the shin injury reared its ugly head forcing Gibson into his second lowest snaps of the season (23).
During a Week 12 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, Gibson suffered a right knee injury and the Pro Football Docs opined an MCL injury but the issue required no sideline stint. On Dec. 21 he suffered a toe injury similar to his 2020 injury that caused him to miss two weeks but this time he played through. The 2020 injury lingered into June 2021 according to Gibson meaning this offseason he focus on getting better and no solely his health.
Fantasy Implications
With the likely RB-by-committee approach in Washington (JD McKissic resigned and drafting Alabama alum Brian Robinson Jr.), Gibson might not be an attractive fantasy player in 2022.
However, we believe that Gibson's past shin, knee and toe injuries are behind him meaning he is poised for a great year health-wise. Gibson proved us wrong last season by playing well through the shin issue.
Even with the crowded back field, he is worth stealing in the later rounds of fantasy football but like alluded to above, refrain for reaching in early rounds for the former Memphis RB.
