By video, significant worry for a multi-ligament injury in left knee – MRI will confirm damage but done for the season and recovery likely to stretch into next season – recovery timeline will be similar to J.K. Dobbins’ knee injury from 2022 - good chance that artery and nerve are not damaged as well.
Mitchell was carried off without putting weight on his left leg. He was carted to the locker room and quickly ruled out.
The rookie running back had 9 carries for 73 yards before exiting. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill will serve as the main backs with Mitchell out.
Baltimore lost Dobbins to an Achilles tear earlier this season, opening the door for more opportunities for Mitchell.
Both injuries happened on grass fields.
The East Carolina product entered the game with 323 yards and 2 touchdowns in 7 games. He also had 7 catches for 78 yards on 9 targets.
