Jonathan Taylor Injury: Colts RB Appears to Suffer Ankle Sprain

Update: After the game, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reported the Colts fear Jonathan Taylor suffered a high-ankle sprain. If that's the case, he is extremely unlikely to play Thursday in Denver.

Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor left the game late in the fourth quarter after suffering a right ankle injury.

By video, Taylor appeared to suffer a right ankle eversion sprain when he fumbled on a run with just under 9 minutes remaining, according to the Pro Football Docs.

The third-year back was pushing for more yards when he had his right ankle fallen on by a Titans defender.

He limped off the field and did not return on the Colts' final possession.

In a typical week, Taylor would have a solid chance to play Sunday. However, Indianapolis plays Thursday in Denver.

After the game, head coach Frank Reich said he did not have an update on the severity of Taylor's injury.

The key for his chances to play Thursday will be overnight swelling.

Taylor had 20 rushes for 42 yards before exiting. He also added 1 catch for a yard.

He has 328 rushing yards on 81 rushing attempts this season. If he can't play Thursday, Nyheim Hines would likely get a majority of the snaps at running back.

Jonathan Taylor had his ankle looked at by trainers during that last defensive series. Now trying to run/jog it out on the sideline while the Colts' offense takes the field.
