Jameis Winston, the quarterback free agent-to-be, is a little more than three months into his recover from left knee ACL surgery. With under seven months left before the start of next season, he looks well on his way to being ready for Week 1, said ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao.Based on Instagram video of Winston's workouts in a physical therapy facility he looks promising, Chao said. He's doing some quarterback drop back in mobility drills and it shows his left knee is responding well, Chao said. He moves very well without any limp.Really the only sign on the video of any issue in these limited drills is that his left leg still has some muscle atrophy. In seven starts for the Saints last season, Winston threw for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.Backup quarterback Taysom Hill also suffered a season-ending injury for the Saints last season. His Lisfranc foot injury on January 9 has a projected 6-9 month recovery timeline, leaving him with tighter timeline to be ready for the start of the season.Certainly teams will pay attention to Winston's knee and he will need to pass a physical but going forward he should be ready to go for Week 1, Chao said.Other free agent quarterbacks this offseason include Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andy Dalton, Cam Newton, Teddy Bridgewater and Trevor Siemian.
