Jamel Dean played in 13 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 61 tackles, four passes defensed, and two fumble recoveries. He missed four games due to a foot injury and suffered a back injury in the Buccaneers' playoff loss to the Lions. Dean is fully healthy entering this season and is fully participating in training camp. He has performed so well in camp that head coach Todd Bowles joked that Dean needed to be drug tested.
