Dak sustained a significant hamstring avulsion injury on November 3 that ended his season, underwent...

Dak Prescott hasn’t yet been cleared for contact but Dr Chao is not concerned from a medical perspective, the belief is that Jerry Jones is simply being cautious after paying his quarterback, there’s no indication of a setback, the bigger story with Dak lies in the evolving offensive system as the Cowboys added a receiver adjusted the O-line and are rolling with Brian Schottenheimer a coach Dr Chao worked alongside in the past who brings a proven offensive mindset, no injury red flags heading into 2025

Dak Prescott did not have a hamstring repair surgery, rather he had a medial distal hamstring partial avulsion, likely one of the three hamstring tendons that does not get repair, a repair would be longer recovery, likely it is a tendon resection surgery so it is fixed or repaired but this allows the muscle to scar to the neighboring hamstring, this is what we do with a hamstring tendon graft and AC L reconstruction, the recovery is 6 to 8 weeks, if the Cowboys stay alive in the standings and for the playoffs he could return this season, but likely he is done, but this does bode very well for the off season and for next season and a very guaranteed recovery for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys

Underwent surgery to address the partial avulsion of his right hamstring, the injury could require 4-5 months to recover fully which means he should be ready for a full offseason program

Is planning to undergo season-ending surgery on his hamstring injury, he sustained the injury last week, he will speak to one more specialist on Monday, but his season is likely over

Most hamstring injuries involve the muscle, this involves the tendon, the tendon at the knee, it is more of an avulsion injury, do not be surprised if he ends up with surgery, the good news with surgery is it would be to reset the area of the tendon to allow for better healing, tendons don't have the same blood flow as muscle, it's not surgery to reattach it, surgery would not end his season but it certainly would be IR as it's typically six weeks at W10 that doesn't leave much room for a return if the Cowboys can stay alive in the playoff hunt, Prescott can come back this season, but at this point IR seems destined for him and it will be more than four games missed

Suffered a right hamstring strain in W9 which usually doesn't happen throwing and it did for him on his back foot which impacts throwing ability, will miss multiple weeks
Nov 4, 2024
Big concern for W10 against the Eagles, he has swelling on his throwing hand but that's not the concern, his hamstring is the issue, usually doesn't happen throwing and it did for him on his back foot, if he has a hard time pushing off of that leg while throwing, there will be serious doubt for Prescott's availability for W10

Exited today's game in the 4th quarter with a hamstring injury and was ruled out, he hurt it on a throw, unusual to hurt plant leg on a throw, hopefully that means it's mild but we will monitor reports, they have a rivalry game next week against the Eagles
