She suffered a scary fall directly on her right wrist on Tuesday vs the New York Liberty. With just over four minutes left in the second quarter, Wilson attempted to draw contact on a drive and fell directly onto her right arm. She initially stayed in the game, visibly favoring the wrist while trying to play through the pain. After a short stint, she was subbed out and did not return for the second half. By video, worry for a scaphoid fracture of the wrist, but an MRI is pending for an official diagnosis from the team.
Clark has missed the last five games with a groin injury as the Fever continue to take a cautious approach with their franchise star, who remains sidelined despite light shooting activity in practice. According to Pro Football Doc Dr. David Chao, Clark’s groin injury is not “day-to-day” but more accurately “week-to-week,” and pushing her return too soon—especially given her prior quad injury—could risk further setbacks. She made her return on Wednesday vs the Valkyries.
She will miss her first game of the season on Monday with an injury to her right ankle. She was held out of practice and was seen in a walking boot and is considered day-to-day. The walking boot would indicate she would miss more than one game, and the team did not specify when she was injured.
After missing the first couple of weeks of the season with a knee injury, Copper is now dealing with a hamstring issue that will sideline her on Monday. The Mercury did not give a timeline for her return and their next game is on Wednesday against the Minnesota Lynx.
Underwent season-ending surgery to address a Lisfranc injury on her left foot. She hadn’t been a starter for the Lynx, but was an important player off the bench for them. Expect Diamond Miller and Natisha Hiedeman to see more minutes in Samuelson’s absence.
Brink has yet to play this season, and it's uncertain when the forward will be able to make her season debut. Initial timeframe for recovery saw her coming back in June. The Sparks have been one of the lowest performing teams with a 6-13 record, they are falling well below expectations when they believed they put together a roster that could compete for a title. Brink's next chance to suit up will come against the Lynx on Thursday, July 10.
Carrington continues to deal with a rib injury and will be unavailable for a sixth consecutive matchup. She's continued to be held out of practice recently, so it's not yet clear when she'll be able to return, but her next chance to suit up will be Wednesday in Chicago.
