Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty)
Pulled up in the first half of Saturday’s game vs the Sparks. The injury was of the non-contact variety, however there was no major injury that the team reported. She’s listed with a lower leg injury. She is with the team on their 4 game road trip, but so far has been ruled out of Monday’s game against the Wings.
Angel Reese (Chicago Sky)
Has missed two consecutive games with a back injury. The Sky have a few injuries and are in the bottom three of the league standings and it’s possible the Sky might be resting Reese while in a rebuild. Otherwise, she’s been playing very well this season averaging 13.8pts and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Cameron Brink (Los Angeles Sparks)
Brink says she is planning to make her season debut Tuesday vs. the Aces. Brink was cleared Saturday after missing 13 months due to a torn ACL.
Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever)
The team has said there is no timetable for her return from the latest groin injury, this time to her right leg, after imaging returned positive results. The lack of a timetable at this time is because the team is prioritizing her long term health rather than having an immediate impact on the team right now. The Fever are playing well in Clark’s absence having won 5 of their last 7 games.
Alanna Smith (Minnesota Lynx)
Exited Sunday’s game against the Dream with an ankle injury and did not return. She’s been playing very well for the league-leading Lynx averaging 9.5pts, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assist while also contributing 1.2 steals and 2 blocks per game. The stat-filling center would be a big loss if she misses significant time, however it appears that she might have avoided serious injury. She has some time to recover, her next game is on Wednesday vs the Liberty.
