Angels' star rightfielder Taylor Ward is currently day-to-day with a stinger after undergoing an MRI on Monday.
Ward is hopeful that he can return to the leadoff spot in the lineup on Tuesday after missing two games this weekend with the neck injury.
He luckily avoided a concussion and, assuming the MRI found no further neck injury, the breakout outfielder has a strong chance to return to the Angels lineup on Tuesday, the ProBaseballDocs say.
Stingers are usually transient, the Docs say, and the three days off Ward has accrued should be enough time to recover. The 28-year-old expressed on Sunday that he was already feeling better, a good sign that the injury won't linger.
If Joe Maddon decides to rest him any longer, Tyler Wade will step in once again.
Ward leads the majors with a .370 averaging and 1.193 OPS while batting ahead of Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Anthony Rendon for the 26-17 Angels.
