What Is the Injury Risk of Signing Free Agent WR Will Fuller?
2 min read • August 11, 2022
Will Fuller is one of the most explosive wide receivers in the NFL, amassing over 3,100 yards and over 14 yards per catch in his 6-year career.
However, Fuller’s past soft tissue injuries raise concerns about possibly the process of reacclimating to the league and getting up to NFL speed, according to the Pro Football Docs. Because his potential signing would come late in training camp, he is at a higher risk for a muscle strain.
Still, he’s a bonafide deep threat that teams such as the Cowboys, Browns, Packers, and Bears have been rumored to be willing to sign.
In his short NFL career, he’s missed 27 games and, after his rookie season, never played in more than 11 games. He’s never topped 1,000 yards or 10 touchdowns in a season. He missed the remainder of last season with the Dolphins.
Fuller has also fractured a rib, torn his ACL, had recurring hamstring injuries and undergone surgery on his groin.
Even though Fuller has had over ten injuries in his career, NFL teams still keep signing him.
His former quarterback, Deshaun Watson, is now on the Cleveland Browns, and there’s a potential fit there as the team is looking for a wide receiver two behind Amari Cooper.
Despite his lengthy injury history, he will likely be fantasy-relevant wherever and whenever he signs.
