Colts RB Jonathan Taylor Ruled Out For Thursday Matchup Against Broncos
2 min read • October 04, 2022
Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor has been ruled out for Thursday’s contest against the Denver Broncos as he deals with a right ankle injury along with mild turf toe.
By video, Taylor appeared to suffer a right ankle eversion sprain, with a mild high-ankle component, late in the Week 4 loss to the Titans, according to the Pro Football Docs.
If this were a normal week of rest, he would definitely be able to play through this type of ankle sprain. However, given the quick turnaround, Taylor will miss the contest.
The 23-year-old running back did not practice all week and was ruled out Wednesday morning, according to the Colts.
Nyheim Hines will likely see increased usage Thursday with Taylor out.
The former Wisconsin Badger missed the first practice of his football career last Wednesday with a toe injury that was later revealed as turf toe.
Through four games, Taylor has averaged 82 rushing yards per game and has 1 touchdown on the season.
The 2021 All-Pro selection ran for 164 yards in Week 1 against the Texans, but has accumulated just 167 rushing yards in the three games since.
Colts vs. Broncos Week 5 Odds
The Colts (1-2-1) are 3 point underdogs in Denver and the over/under is 42.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
