When Will Patriots QB Mac Jones Return From High-Ankle Sprain?

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick told reporters Wednesday that Mac Jones “has made a lot of progress” in the last two days after suffering a left ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Based on multiple angles of the injury, Jones appeared to suffer a severe high ankle sprain that will likely sideline him for at least three weeks.

Jones reportedly got a second opinion on the ankle from a foot/ankle specialist and likely discussed the possibility of surgery.

If Jones undergoes surgery, the tightrope procedure would not speed up his timeline but would allow more stability when he does return.

Despite Belichick’s optimism, Brian Hoyer will likely start against the next three opponents: the Packers, Lions and Browns.

New England Patriots vs. Green Bay Packers Week 4 Odds

The Patriots are 10 points underdogs in Green Bay and the over/under is 40.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

New England (1-2) is at +2200 to win the AFC East, trailing the Bills at -240 and the Dolphins at +210.
