This Sunday, Nov. 23, the New York Jets (2-8) travel to face the Baltimore Ravens (5-5) at M&T Bank Stadium with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m. ET (CBS). Baltimore has won four straight and looks to build momentum in the AFC playoff chase, while New York continues to search for consistency and hope down the stretch.
Baltimore enters confident after edging the Cleveland Browns 23-16 in Week 11, grinding out a physical win. Meanwhile, New York remains mired in struggle: its offense has ranked among the bottom in passing yards and production, and a recent move at quarterback has drawn added attention.
From a matchup standpoint, the Ravens bring a dominant run game, strong defense and home-field advantage. The Jets must find ways to climb back into games via splash plays or turnovers; otherwise, this could turn into a blowout. Betting lines have Baltimore as the heavy favorite at -13.5.
Key storylines to watch:
How will the Jets stop the threat of the potent Ravens offense with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry?
Can New York’s offense ignite under veteran Tyrod Taylor, and will the Jets’ defense survive without key contributors?
How will injuries and rotations impact depth on both sides, especially for the Ravens’ defense which has seen multiple starters tweak or miss practice this week?
Special teams and field position will matter; a Jets turnover or Ravens short field could swing momentum early.

Injury Impact – What to Watch
Jets
The Jets are thin on the edge and interior defensive front as Harrison Phillips and Will McDonald IV both manage injuries in practice this week. If either is limited or inactive, Baltimore’s run game gains a clearer path to control the line of scrimmage. New York’s struggles generating pressure have been evident this season, and missing rotational depth only exacerbates that deficiency.
On offense, Taylor inherits the QB starting role and while Taylor brings experience, the Jets’ supporting cast is beleaguered and injuries lingering for skill‐players or linemen limit his margin for error. If the offense fails to sustain drives, the defense will be on the field too long, compounding fatigue and mismatch risks.
Ravens
Baltimore’s biggest narrative hinges on Lamar Jackson’s health. Although he returned to full practice Thursday, his ankle (and previous knee) issues need to be managed. If he’s limited during the game -or if the Jets find a way to disrupt his timing - this could blunt the Ravens’ dual‐threat advantage.
Defensively, the Ravens’ nickel and coverage units are playing through minior injuries: Kyle Hamilton and Roquan Smith both limited in practice Thursday. The limitation of either weakens run support and coverage versatility.
Further, WR Rashod Bateman’s ankle issue removes a deep threat option and forces Baltimore into a more conservative passing attack - potentially playing into New York’s defensive strengths.
In sum: while Baltimore remains significantly healthier than many teams, the timing and accumulation of injuries require close supervision. For New York, the injuries and upheaval - including the QB change - make any upset highly improbable unless everything breaks right.
Outlook & Takeaway
The Ravens enter this matchup with momentum and home strength. The Jets are in transition, with a new quarterback starter and multiple key injuries on both sides of the ball. Given Baltimore’s edge in health, depth and execution, the smart money backs the Ravens to impose their will. The key for New York: generate turnovers early, force Jackson off his rhythm, and sustain drives to keep the defense fresh. Without that, they risk being overwhelmed.
