Tua Tagovailoa Injury: Dolphins Quarterback Leaves With Head Injury, Return for 2nd Half

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game against the Bills after appearing to suffer a head injury on a hit in the second quarter.

By video, Tagovailoa was pushed by Matt Milano and hit the back of his head on the ground. He went to the locker room and was deemed questionable to return.

Tagovailoa returned for the start of the second half and finished the game. During the game, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported the Dolphins quarterback tweaked his back on a sneak in the first quarter.

After the Milano hit, his back locked up leading to the wobbling, Rapoport reported. He was taken to the locker room for the concussion evaluation and was fully cleared.

Upon video review, Tagovailoa did appear to injure his back on the quarterback sneak in the first quarter. On the subsequent play, he appeared stiff on a handoff.

Teddy Bridgewater entered the game at quarterback with under two and a half minutes left. after Tagovailoa was injured on the push from Milano.

The third-year quarterback finished the game 13 for 18 for 186 yards and a touchdown.

After the game, head coach Mike McDaniels said Tagovailoa's lower back loosened and caused him to wobble.
