Stephen Curry Injury: Will Left Knee Injury Limit Warriors Star?

Point guard Stephen Curry is listed as probable and expected to return to the surging Warriors on Sunday against the Lakers after he missed the last 11 games with a left leg injury.

Curry, SIC score 90, suffered tibiofibular joint and interosseous membrane sprains while shuffling his feet on defense on February 4th and should be clear of any lingering left leg issues for the final 18-game stretch run.

When the 34-year-old missed 11 games earlier this season with a left shoulder subluxation the Warriors went 6-5 without him, including a five-game home winning streak.

When he returned on January 10, Curry averaged 28.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on .485/.412/.930 splits and Golden State went 7-6 before the leg injury took him out again last month.

The Warriors, 34-30, have similarly won their last five games at home and are 7-4 in their last 11 contests, during which Klay Thompson has scored 27.1 points on 48% shooting and 46.3% on 12.2 threes per game.

Sophomore Jonathan Kuminga has averaged 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals-plus-blocks on 52.6% shooting without Andrew Wiggins, who has missed the last seven games and is out indefinitely for personal reasons.
