Recovery Timelines For Hurts, Johnson Point To Philly Playoff Return

Lane Johnson Injury Update

Veteran right tackle Lane Johnson reportedly suffered a torn adductor tendon late in Saturday's loss and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.

This type of core muscle injury is normally healed with surgery, according to the Pro Football Docs, but Johnson will opt to rest the injury for the next 2-to-3 weeks and return for the postseason because of the limited time.

By comparison, Joey Bosa suffered a core muscle tear in Week 3, underwent surgery, and is expected to return to practice ahead of Week 17.

The 32-year-old has played every game this season but missed a handful of snaps after he suffered an initial abdominal injury in Week 14.

Jalen Hurts Injury Update

Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, meanwhile, is reportedly expected to miss another game with an SC joint sprain, leaving Gardner Minshew will play against the Saints.

The Pro Football Docs argue that he will be healthy enough to start and will likely push to play with a pain-relieving injection.

The Eagles, now 13-2, are still the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but their playoff position will be decided in the final two weeks.

The dual-threat quarterback was the MVP favorite at -150 on FanDuel Sportsbook as recently as last Monday and has accounted for 4,219 total yards and 35 touchdowns in 14 games this season.
