Penn State Injury Update: Will Penn State’s Offense Suffer From Lack of Depth?

Keyvone Lee finished 11th in the Big Ten in yards per carry (4.9) during the 2021 season. He was also named to the preseason Doak Walker Award Watch List, which is given to the top running back. He proved during his freshman year that he’s one of the most explosive players in college football.

But, this year, he's battled multiple injuries that have not allowed him to play like himself. He’s averaging a career-low 3.8 yards per carry, and he’s only broken one run past 11 yards. During the team’s matchup against Michigan, he aggravated an injury that kept him out of the game, and he finished with only one carry. His injury status is undisclosed for the week. But he is expected to start practicing soon.

Penn State will use Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen as their running back tandem while Lee is out.

Sophomore wide receiver Jaden Dottin is expected to miss his fourth straight contest due to an undisclosed injury. He has two catches for 14 yards on the season.

Freshman tight end Jerry Cross is not expected to play this week after not playing in a game this season. He is projected to return from injury in early November.

Ohio State vs. Penn State Week 9 Odds

Ohio State is favored by 15.5 points on the road against Penn State, and the over/under is 60.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
