Oregon State Injury report:
The Oregon State Beavers enter their matchup against the Utah Utes as a team with a recent loss to Pac-12 leader, USC. Before Saturday's night matchup against USC, the Oregon State offense was rolling. But, a couple of injuries to key players have hurt that.
Trey Lowe has been ruled out for Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury. He hasn't been active since the team's game against Boise State on September 3rd. The loss of Lowe has hurt the overall depth at the running back position for the Beavers. Last season he rushed for 359 yards and one touchdown while catching 23 passes for 200 yards. His versatility showed up, and having a three-down back will be missed in the Oregon State offense.
One of the nation's best tight ends is Luke Musgrave, who hurt his leg in a crucial game against Fresno State. He was having a fantastic season by averaging over 15 yards per catch while amassing 169 yards in two games. The Oregon State offense missed their big target when they suffered their first season loss.
Utah Injury report:
The Utah Utes are coming off a 21-point victory against Arizona State. After the loss, many fans called for Arizona State's head coach Herman Edwards to be fired. But, they lost their All-Pac-12 tight end Brant Kuithe to a season-ending injury.
One of the team captains, Kuithe, suffered a knee injury. His head coach said this about him, "We'll miss (Brant). He's a great leader. Great person," Whittingham said. "It breaks your heart to see something like that happen to a senior." This season Kuithe is the team's leader in receptions with 19.
Kuithe was named a second-team All-Pac-12 selection last season. He has a spectacular junior season catching 50 passes for 611 yards with six touchdowns. He ranks eighth in Utah history with 148 career receptions in his career. He also had 1,882 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career.
Senior TE Dalton Kincaid will start in Kuithe's absence, and he has 16 catches this season.
