Ohio State Injury update: Will Ohio State be without Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson?

The Ohio State Buckeyes face off against the Michigan Wolverines in Columbus, Ohio, for a berth in the Big 10 championship game. Both teams enter the game undefeated. But the Buckeyes might be without its staple of running backs and a top wide receiver.

Miyan Williams is the leading rusher for the Buckeyes. He has not played since the team beat Indiana. He was seen on the sideline with a boot on his right foot and crutches. He has 783 yards on 117 carries and 13 touchdowns.

Ohio State's second-leading rusher, TreVeyon Henderson, played in the team’s last game against Maryland. But his usage was limited, with only 11 carries for 19 yards.

The Buckeyes’ third-leading rusher, Dallan Hayden, has carried the load in the absence of Willaims and Henderson. Last week he had 248 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

On his radio show on 97.1 FM on Wednesday, coach Ryan Day said Ohio State's running backs had a “good day of practice” the previous day and expressed optimism about their recoveries.

“Looking forward to getting a couple of guys back in that room,” Day said.

Also, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has not played since suffering a hamstring injury versus Iowa.

Smith-Njigba’s father has an update on his son's playing status.

“The next time Jaxon is in scarlet and gray, he’ll be 110%,” Maada Smith-Njigba said. “I don’t know if that will be against the team up north or the Fiesta Bowl.”
