Ohio State Injury update: Will Jaxon Smith-Njigba be a Full Go against Penn State?

The Ohio State Buckeyes have soared to the number-one team in the Big Ten and possibly the entire NCAA. They have the player with the highest odds to win the Heisman Trophy, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. They have the son of a hall-of-fame NFL wide receiver that’s proven to be a stud in his own right.

All of that has happened without their number one wide receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, fully healthy.

Smith-Njigba has only played in three games this season and has five catches. A hamstring injury has hampered the projected 1st round pick all season. In the team’s game against Iowa, he caught one pass for seven-yard, and after the catch, he ended up on the sideline. He kept his hamstring warm by running on a bike and down the sideline.

Smith-Njigba played around 20 snaps against Iowa. But, look for his workload to increase weekly as his hamstring is getting stronger.

Backup running back TC Caffey is out for the year after suffering an undisclosed injury. Chip Trayanum will not take on the full-time running back duties with Caffey out for the year. Longsnapper Bradley Robinson is out for the foreseeable future after suffering an injury during the team’s last game.

Cornerback Lloyd McFarquhar missed last week's matchup with an undisclosed injury. He is questionable to play a game this week.

Ohio State vs. Penn State Week 9 Odds
