Ahead of NFL Week 2, several star players are dealing with injuries that could impact both real-life outcomes and fantasy football lineups. Pro Football Doc, Dr. David Chao, breaks down the latest updates and what to expect.

Brock Purdy (QB, 49ers)

Chao said Purdy will miss a few weeks after sustaining two separate injuries during a rough second quarter in Week 1, a left AC joint sprain and right turf toe.

“He finished the game and deserves credit for toughness,” Chao said, “but the toe is the bigger deal. It can swell overnight, get stiff, and limit push-off from the back foot, which is critical for downfield accuracy.”

Chao expects Purdy to avoid IR. "We think it's short of the 5 weeks, which is what they're quoting for the max. We think it's closer to 2 or 3, but he's not playing this week and maybe beyond, but can avoid injured reserve."

Brock Bowers (TE, Raiders)

Bowers left his game with what Chao identified by video as a left knee PCL sprain. “Thankfully, not an ACL as some speculated,” Chao said. “PCL sprain does not need surgery, but it’s still a ligament injury.”

Bowers was a DNP both Thursday and Friday, and Chao expects him to miss this week’s Monday night matchup and “a little bit more” before returning.

Drake London (WR, Falcons)

London suffered a mild AC joint sprain in his right shoulder late in the game in Week 1. This week, London was LP on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to a full participant on Friday. Chao expects him to be able to play through the injury, "mild AC joint sprain, something that he can try and play through with an injection."

Xavier Worthy (WR, Chiefs)

Worthy sustained a dislocated shoulder in a “friendly fire” incident. Chao said the season is not over for the second-year receiver, who can play with a harness and delay surgery until the offseason. He expects Worthy to miss this week but return shortly thereafter: "We expect him to miss this week, but hopefully be back shortly thereafter and put off surgery until the end of the season." Worthy is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday.

Dallas Goedert (TE, Eagles)

Goedert suffered a knee sprain in Week 1 vs. the Cowboys. Goedert did not practice all week and is officially OUT for Sunday vs. the Chiefs.
