Eastern Conference Play-In
Orlando Magic - Orlando was hot out of the gate when the regular season started, going 15-7 despite some major injuries to essential players on their roster. Paolo Banchero was having a career year before tearing an oblique muscle on October 30th that saw him miss 33 consecutive games. Upon returning, he played in every game and averaged 25.9pts, 7.5reb and 4.8ast, very worth of the All-Star nod he likely would have received. Franz Wagner also tore an oblique muscle that saw him miss 20 games, and he, too, hasn’t missed any games since returning. They’ve gotten mostly healthy at the end of the season, and have spent a good portion of the season playing without two of their best players, Mo Wagner with a torn ACL sustained December 21, and Jalen Suggs to a multitude of injuries since January 25. So despite their injuries, the Magic have actually been fairly consistent on their way to a nearly .500 record.
Atlanta Hawks - The Atlanta Hawks have been fairly healthy throughout the season, the most consistent player on their injury report has been Trae Young, which sounds concerning, but he’s only missed five games this season while dealing with Achilles tendinitis in his right foot and led the league in assists.
Chicago Bulls - The Bulls have been playing well as of late while being relatively healthy, going 14-7 since the beginning of March heading into the final game. Lonzo Ball has been the most injured player in the final stage of the season, having missed 22 consecutive games with a sprained wrist. Hearing Lonzo Ball having injury issues isn’t great news, but that it’s his wrist and not his knees is a good sign for future health, but it seems like he could miss the Play-In.
Miami Heat - Heading into the Play-In, Miami has no major injuries to any of their key players. Kevin Love has been listed as a Game Time Decision, but he doesn’t play very many minutes at this stage of his career.
Western Conference Play-In
Memphis Grizzlies - Jaylen Wells is the lone player on Memphis’s injury report. He took a very hard fall on a dunk attempt that saw him carted off and checked into a hospital, luckily the result of that fall was a broken wrist and no head or brain injury, it’s likely he could miss the playoff run for the Grizzlies but should they advance he will continue to be monitored.
Sacramento Kings - Malik Monk has been on the injury report since April 9 and was set to be evaluated in two weeks, which is beyond the play-in should the Kings advance. Without Malik Monk, the Kings are without one of their more dynamic scorers.
Dallas Mavericks - The Dallas Mavericks will be without Kyrie Irving who’s out with a torn ACL, Anthony Davis appears to have recovered from his adductor strain and Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford have recovered from their injuries as well. They’ve played well since Anthony Davis has returned, but are still in a bind without Kyrie.
Golden State Warriors - The Warriors and Clippers were two of the few teams who couldn't rest starters on the final day, their matchup determined the final Play-In spot and an overtime loss by the Warriors planted them here. Steph Curry came into the game with a bit of an injury concern to his shooting hand, he had smacked his hand on an opponents knee in the game prior, however he scored 36 pts, on 7 3pt makes and didn't miss any of his 9 free throw attempts so his hand is likely a non-issue.
