Staying on top of NBA injury updates using SICscore.com insights is crucial for fans, fantasy managers and sports bettors alike, especially as the season heats up.
Here are our key player insights for today:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)
Missed the Bucks game on Wednesday due to a left foot sprain. Antetokounmpo has played in all 18 games since the All-Star break but missed 12 before the break because of right knee and left calf injuries. The injury will be closely monitored, especially with the news that Damian Lillard is now sidelined indefinitely. The Bucks can’t afford to lose both of their stars. They entered Wednesday as the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference, narrowly ahead of the 6th-place Pistons by percentage points.
Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)
Missed the Celtics game on Wednesday after suffering a sprained left ankle on Monday. Tatum told reporters that his ankle is "just sore" but that the team is "going to be cautious." Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazulla was optimistic that Tatum would not be sidelined for an extended period of time.
Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
Jokic returned to the Nuggets lineup after missing their previous five games due to an ankle injury. Played 38 minutes, recording a triple-double with 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors)
Curry suffered a pelvic contusion after a hard fall during a home win over the Toronto Raptors last week. Curry joined the team on their current road trip and was listed as questionable to play vs. the Heat on Tuesday, but Head Coach Steve Kerr told reporters Curry is not quite ready to play, "He wasn’t quite there, and we just can’t risk it. He worked out yesterday and he looked good, but at the very end of the workout, just one movement that he made just didn’t quite feel right." The expectation is that Curry will play before the Warriors finish their current six-game road trip.
Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies)
Morant has missed the Grizzlies' last four games due to a left hamstring injury. Due to a plethora of injuries, he has only played 43 of the Grizzlies' 71 games this season. With 11 games remaining this season, he can only max out at 52 games played if he returns and doesn't miss another game.
Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks)
Brunson has missed the Knicks past 10 games due to a sprained ankle. Head Coach Tom Thibodeau provided a positive update for Brunson, saying he is progressing well, "He’s doing more and more each day. He’s feeling a lot better. So, really good progress. But day-to-day, basically." The Knicks are currently third in the Eastern Conference, and with only 10 games remaining in the season, the Knicks will not rush Brunson back to play. Brunson has played in 61 games this season and will need to play at least 65 games to be eligible for the NBA's regular season awards.
Anthony Davis (Dallas Mavericks)
Davis returned to the Mavericks lineup on Monday night after missing the last 18 games with a left adductor strain. Davis scored 12 points in 27 minutes of action. He did not suit up on Tuesday vs. the Knicks, but the plan is for him to return to action on Thursday vs. the Magic.
