The Pirates recalled utility man Enmanuel Valdez in his place and will send Gonzales to Pittsburgh to see a foot specialist. His return timeline remains unclear.
Jackson Merrill (OF): Jackson Merrill was placed on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring injury and won’t return by April 18, extending his absence.
