Ohio State junior running back Miyan Williams left Saturday's game against No. 13 Penn State after suffering an apparent dislocation of his right ring finger.
By video, Williams was injured when he attempted to brace his fall with his right hand on a 5-yard run at the end of the first quarter.
Williams suffered a dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint, which was fortunately reduced (put back in place) without surgery, according to the College Football Docs.
He went to the locker room for X-rays, which were likely negative or else he would have returned to the sideline in street clothes.
Williams has not returned to the game, but had his ring and pinky fingers buddy taped.
He also appeared to hyperextend his right knee on the same run he injured his finger and was reportedly icing his knee after halftime. That signals he will not return to the game.
Overall, Williams' finger injury will likely be a short-term deal and he has a chance to play next week against Northwestern.
The junior back has 516 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns in 74 attempts this season, leading the team in the first two categories.
Sophomore running back TreVeyon Henderson will handle a majority of the running back duties with Williams out.
