The Michigan Wolverines are set to battle the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio, for a berth in the Big 10 championship game. Both teams enter the game undefeated. But the Wolverines might be without the team’s best player.
Blake Corum is having a magical sophomore season, which has made him a possible candidate for the Heisman trophy. He has 1,457 yards on 245 rushing attempts and 18 touchdowns.
But, last Saturday, he injured his left knee in a gutsy 19-17 win over Illinois.
According to our College Football Docs, Corum appeared to suffer an MCL sprain with a possible bone bruise when his knee hyperextended on the hit with his left foot planted.
If Corum plays this Saturday, he won’t be nearly as effective as he’s been this season, and his workload should drop significantly.
Furthermore, backup running back Donovan Edwards did not play in the team’s last game versus Illinois with an undisclosed injury. There have been very few updates on why Edwards missed the game.
Head coach John Harbaugh said at his weekly press conference, “If Corum or Edwards can't practice leading up to the Ohio State game, they will not play.”
Ohio State is favored by 7.5 points at home against Michigan, and the over/under is 56.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
