Louisville vs. UCF Injury Report: Which Team is Healthier in Friday Matchup?

University of Louisville Injury Report:

Despite a disappointing debut against Syracuse, Louisville has no injury hurdles to overcome.

The only notable absence from last week is backup quarterback Evan Conley.

The junior quarterback underwent an unspecified surgery last December and appears to still be working his way back.

Conley’s status will only come into play if dual-threat star quarterback Malik Cunningham leaves the contest.

Cunningham had a disappointing season debut against Syracuse, tallying 152 yards passing with 2 interceptions and 34 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

Despite having one of the best offensive lines in the ACC, he took 3 sacks against Syracuse.

The Cardinals’ offensive line allowed just 20 sacks all last season and returned four starters. His escapability will have to improve for Louisville to pull off the upset against UCF.

University of Central Florida Injury Report:

The UCF Knights were triumphant over the South Carolina State Bulldogs in Week one and enter this matchup against Louisville with minimal injury issues.

Senior wide receiver Amari Johnson missed last week with a foot injury, while freshmen defensive tackle Lee Hunter and cornerback Ja’Cari Henderson also missed the contest with undisclosed ailments.

Johnson had just five combined catches in his first two seasons with UCF, but tallied 23 catches for 138 yards last season.

Other than Johnson, UCF’s receiving core is intact and performed well against South Carolina

Quarterback and Ole Miss transfer John Rhys Plumlee threw for 308 yards and ran for 86 last week. He could be in for another heavy workload against a Louisville defense that gave up 31 points to Syracuse in week one.

UCF is favored by 5.5 points at home and the over/under is 61.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
