Kyler Murray's Return: Cardinals QB Shows Promise After ACL Injury, Progress Towards Full Health

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray made his return last week against the Atlanta Falcons after recovering from an ACL tear, appearing relatively healthy.

Murray tore his right knee's ACL on Dec. 12 and had been on injured reserve since then.

In his first appearance back, he displayed more explosiveness than the majority of NFL quarterbacks but was not at his usual level.

According to Pro Football Docs, Murray is not operating at full capacity, but has still surpassed our initial expectations. He showcased his exceptional athleticism but continues to experience limitations, particularly in cutting on the right side where the ACL injury occurred. Additionally, he struggles to decelerate due to concerns about exerting excessive pressure on his healing right knee.

Against the Falcons, Murray completed 19 of 32 passes for 249 yards and rushed for 33 yards, scoring one touchdown.

During the previous season, Murray amassed 2,368 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, adding 418 rushing yards with three scores.

Murray's SIC score increased from 71 to 79 this week following his impressive performance. It's anticipated that he will continue progressing toward full health as the season approaches its conclusion.

This week Murray, will have a chance to show his improvement against the Houston Texans.
