The 2021 Biletnikoff award winner, which is given to the best WR in college football, shook the college world when he transferred to USC. Jordan Addison’s only year at USC wasn’t as productive as his Biletnikoff season, but that can be attributed to a lingering ankle injury.
The potential top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft’s ankle problems started on Oct. 16, when he suffered a left ankle injury in the third quarter. The injury left Addison on crutches, and missed USC’s next two games.
He would return versus Colorado on Nov. 11 but only caught one pass for two yards. Addison decided to sit out Cotton Bowl to rehab the lingering ankle issue, but he is reportedly fully healthy for the NFL combine, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
According to the Pro Football Docs, Addison’s ankle injury shouldn’t affect his draft stock or his ability to show his quickness at the combine. At the combine, many team doctors are checking out every prospect, and we expect Addison’s ankle to check out fine.
The USC standout’s game is based on agility in and out of breaks, as he’s one of the top route runners in the draft. The health of his ankle will be on full display in drills that showcase quickness, such as the 3-cone and 40-yard dash.
Addison’s stats pre-injury: 7 games, 39 receptions, 585 yards, 7 TDs, 15.0 avg.
Addison’s stats post-injury: 4 games, 20 receptions, 290 yards, 1 TD, 14.5 avg.
Addison’s 2021 Biletnikoff award season stats: 14 games, 100 receptions, 1,593 yards, 17 TD, 15.9 avg.
