Tyreek Hill – Miami Dolphins – Wrist
Tyreek Hill suffered a wrist injury during a joint practice with the Washington Commanders in August 2024 but opted to play through the 2024 NFL season despite medical advice recommending season-ending surgery. The injury noticeably impacted his performance. Hill flirted with career-low season totals with 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns. Hill delayed treatment until the offseason. In February 2025, he underwent surgery to repair ligament damage in the wrist, followed by a second procedure in May to remove the screws from the initial operation—a planned step in his recovery. Despite both surgeries, the Miami Dolphins expect Hill to be fully ready for training camp, with no changes to his projected recovery timeline.
Rashee Rice – Kansas City Chiefs – LCL
On October 8, Rashee Rice underwent surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament (LCL) through a specialized procedure known as posterolateral corner reconstruction. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid stated that Rice was given a recovery timeline of 10 to 12 months.
Malik Nabers – New York Giants – Toe
New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has been sidelined during OTAs as he manages a lingering toe injury that dates back to his college days at LSU. While the team is exercising caution early in the offseason, the injury is not considered serious, and Nabers is expected to be fully ready for training camp. Nabers is not expected to need a procedure to address the injury
Aidan Hutchinson – Detroit Lions - Leg
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has been fully cleared to return to football activities after recovering from a fractured tibia and fibula sustained in Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season. During OTAs, Hutchinson has been observed wearing a protective leg sleeve but is actively participating in drills. Although his goal was to return if the Lions made the Super Bowl, being ready for week 1 of this season was always a realistic timeline.
Joey Bosa – Buffalo Bills – Calf
Longtime Los Angeles Chargers star Joey Bosa will be sidelined until training camp after suffering a calf injury during Buffalo Bills team workouts, head coach Sean McDermott announced. Bosa played in 14 games combined during the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons due to various injuries. He signed a one year deal worth over $12M this offseason.
Will Fries – Minnesota Vikings – Leg
Will Fries is not expected to see much on-field action this spring as he continues to recover from a fractured tibia suffered in October 2024. The Colts offensive lineman is in the final stages of his rehab and remains on track to be fully cleared in time for the start of training camp. Fries signed a 5-year free agent deal worth $88M. He suffered a severe right tibia fracture during the 2024 season, requiring surgery and ending his season. The injury occurred while run blocking in a game against the Jaguars.
