NFL 2022: Fantasy Football and DFS Players to Avoid in Week 7

Keenan Allen, WR27, SIC score 68

The Chargers' veteran wide receiver has already missed five games with a left hamstring strain and is likely trending towards sitting out another week, according to the Pro Football Docs.

The 30-year-old will reportedly be a game-time decision after returning to practice and if he does suit up he would have limited explosiveness and would be on a snap count.

The Chargers, 4-2, have their bye in Week 8

Allen suffered the injury in Week 1 and the aggravation ahead of Week 4 while he was prepping to return.

Quarterback Justin Herbert has used a spread-out attack without Allen, as five players – led by Mike Williams – have at least 190 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Jahan Dotson, WR80, SIC score 67

The Commanders will turn to Taylor Heineke against the Packers but the lifetime backup may be without standout rookie Jahan Dotson after he appeared to aggravate a hamstring injury in practice.

After notching 12 receptions for 152 yards and a team-best four touchdowns through Week 4, Dotson has missed the last two games.

If the 22-year-old does suit up – Ron Rivera said they would err on the side of caution – he would be a limited route runner against a talented Green Bay secondary.

Tyler Lockett, WR14, SIC score 66

The veteran Seahawks wideout is listed as questionable for the contest against the Chargers with a hamstring injury he suffered in practice on Oct. 13. He played through the hamstring injury last week, but had 2 catches for 17 yards on 5 targets.

Lockett is unlikely to be effective this week if he suits up and may be relegated to a decoy role. D.K. Metcalf may see more targets and look for more involvement from Dee Eskridge.

Hunter Renfrow, WR 44, SIC score 79

Renfrow is questionable with a mystery hip injury. The Raiders had a bye last week and Renfrow popped up on the injury report after not practicing Thursday. It remains unclear how effective he will be, but there are likely better flex options. The Texans rank 13th in passing yards allowed this season.

Mack Hollins is also questionable with a heel injury and Darren Waller is out with a hamstring injury. With several pieces of the passing game banged up, it may be tough for the Raiders to move the pass through the air.

DFS Players to Target Due to Injury

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

A must-start this week is Chiefs running back Clyde-Edwards-Helaire, who is facing the San Francisco 49ers' run defense, which has a 62 SIC score.

Even though Edwards-Helaire has a 42.5 percent snap share over the last two weeks, he has very high touchdown potential playing in a high-scoring offense.

The 49ers have multiple defensive starters that are out this week, including defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw and Arik Armstead and breakout saefty Talanoa Hufanga.

The Chiefs' rush offense has a 92.9 SIC Score, which should allow them to dominate the line of scrimmage. So, Edwards-Helaire should be able to have one of his biggest.

Jets Offense

The New York Jets offense should have a significant advantage versus a battered Denver Broncos defense. According to SIC scores, the Jets' offense has a four-point advantage over the Broncos' defense.

RB Breece Hall is coming off a massive week in which he dominated on the ground and through the air. Hall should be started in all DFS lineups since he's facing a hurt Broncos defensive line.

WR Corey Davis has been the favorite target of QB Zach Wilson over the past two years. A matchup against a Denver secondary out of multiple CBs might make this a very intriguing matchup. Davis target share should increase this week.

Keenan Allen says he has "high hopes" to play. "I just think earlier in the week I was still a little sore having not ran for maybe a week. I think just knocking off the rest, knocking off some scar tissue felt good."
