Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf suffered a left knee injury in the Week 7 win over the Chargers that will likely keep him out weeks.
Metcalf reportedly injured his patella tendon, but will not require surgery, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Upon second review of the video, Metcalf appeared to suffer a patella subluxation rather than a dislocation with severe patella tendon damage, according to the Pro Football Docs.
There is hope the injury is not season-ending for Metcalf and he may even avoid IR.
A dislocation would likely require an absence of 6-8 weeks, but the Pro Football Docs have hope it is just a subluxation.
Metcalf has an outside to be back right before the team's Week 11 bye. If not, he will likely return for Week 12 against the Raiders or Week 13 against the Rams.
The 24-year-old has 418 yards and 2 touchdowns on 31 catches this season.
The Seahawks (4-3) face the Giants (6-1) in Seattle in Week 8. Seattle is favored by 3 points and the over/under is 45.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
