Cordarrelle Patterson Designated For Return Following Knee Surgery

Atlanta Falcons veteran running back Cordarrelle Patterson returned to practice Wednesday, beginning his three-week activation window after his early October knee surgery.

Patterson is unlikely to return this week against the Chargers, but could make it back for the Week 10 matchup against the Panthers, according to the Pro Football Docs.

Patterson was placed on IR after Week 4 and is eligible to return this week, but the team will likely want him to log a full week of practice then return closer to 100%.

The surgery he underwent, likely a knee scope, has a reliable recovery and he should have no lingering issues when he is up to speed.

Atlanta has gotten by with rookies Tyler Allegeier and Caleb Huntley the past four weeks, but Patterson should return to his usual role once active.

Prior to this injury, Patterson had missed just two games in his 10-year, 147-game career.

Through four games, he had 340 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns.

With Patterson out, Huntley had 206 rushing yards (51.5 yards per game) and Allegeier had 185 yards (46.25 per game).

Atlanta ranks fifth in rushing yards per game this season at 144.1.

Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl LVII Odds

The Falcons are +10000 to win Super Bowl LVII and are +250 to win the NFC South.

The Los Angeles Chargers are favored by 3 points on the road against the Falcons this week and the over/under is 49.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

.@ceeflashpee84 says he feels about 90 % . He says he knows a lot of fans are messaging him about fantasy football while he’s been out, but he says it’s not about FF it’s about how he’s feeling. No one ever dm’s him asking him if he’s okay. #dirtybirds #NFL
