Clemson Injury Update: Is the Clemon D-line finally getting healthy?

Clemon defensive linemen Xavier Thomas and Bryan Bresee have missed games this season. But, after having a bye week two weeks ago and being upset against Notre Dame, the two linemen are in line to have an increase in snaps.

Defensive end Xavier Thomas missed the first five games of the season with a foot injury in fall camp. Since returning, the team has been slowly working him into the game plan, giving him an average of about 17 snaps per game. His head coach talked about his recovery from his foot injury to the media.

“I think the biggest thing for XT, because he’s done a great job on his conditioning side, is just two more weeks of great healing in that foot,” Swinney said. “You’ll see him ramp it up over this month. I’ve high expectations for him in November, and we will need him. We’re going to need him down the stretch.”

Thomas has four tackles and two sacks this season, and with a couple of games under his belt, his production should start to increase.

Bryan Bresee missed three games this season after his sister tragically passed away from brain cancer and with a non-football medical issue.

Bresee’s workload has risen every week he’s been back, and similarly to Thomas, he will just have to work on his conditioning after missing a ton of time in fall camp.

Bresee has six tackles and 1.5 sacks this season.

Another player expected to return this week is junior running back Kobe Pace, who suffered a high ankle sprain that caused him to miss four games.

His coaches believe that the target date for Pace’s return is this Saturday against Louisville. Pace has 59 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season.
