Chris Godwin Injury: Returning WR Leaves With Hamstring Injury
2 min read • September 12, 2022
Chris Godwin suffered a right hamstring injury on a short catch late in the first half and is out for the game, first reported by NBC's game broadcast and later corroborated by Adam Schefter.
There was no clear injury mechanism on the apparent play and his hamstring strain is likely an accumulation injury, according to the Pro Football Docs.
The 26-year-old pro-bowler was likely overused and remains unprepared to carry a heavy offensive load only eight months and three weeks since suffering a torn right ACL last December.
Godwin brought in all three of his targets for 35 yards, including a 24-yard reception, in the first half.
The Buccaneers face the Saints next Sunday and will likely have to do so without Godwin.
