Chandler Morris Injury: TCU Quarterback Appears to Suffer Left Knee Sprain

Chandler Morris, a redshirt freshman, hurt his left knee in his first game since earning the starting job for the TCU Horned Frogs.

By video, Morris appeared to suffer an MCL sprain that will keep him out a few weeks. The injury is a big blow for Morris because he's a mobile quarterback, but he will likely not require surgery.

Chandler Morris Injury Update

Morris led the Horned Frogs to a 17-6 lead before going down. He was seen with ice on his knee on the sideline, which is consistent with an MCL sprain.

He threw for 111 yards and ran for 18 yards with no touchdowns. But, his ability to break the pocket helped the team put pressure on Colorado’s defense.

If he returns wearing a knee brace, his mobility could be limited, and that could cause the team to go with a healthy starter in Max Duggan.

Last year in limited playing time, he earned the Big 12 offensive player of the week and Manning Award Star of the Week against Baylor. His potential as a quarterback that can break the pocket was shown.
