Alex Cappa Injury: Bengals RG Leaves With Severe Left Knee Injury
2 min read • January 08, 2023
Cincinnati Bengals right guard Alex Cappa appeared to suffer a severe left knee injury late in the third quarter against the Ravens and exited the game.
By video, Cappa suffered a high-grade MCL sprain at minimum, according to the Pro Football Docs. He could also have damage to other ligaments in his knee.
The team labeled him questionable to return with an ankle injury, which could hint toward the high ankle/MCL sprain combo.
Either way, Cappa will likely miss the Bengals entire playoff run, according to our panel of doctors.
The injury comes just over two weeks since the Bengals lost right tackle La'el Collins for the season to a torn ACL.
Cappa and Collins were the Bengals' two biggest free agent signings.
Now, Cincinnati heads into the playoffs with Hakeem Adeniji at right tackle and Jackson Carman likely filling in at right guard.
