Aaron Rodgers Injury: Packers QB Sits 4th Quarter With Injured Ribs

Update: Rodgers did not return to the game and said after that the X-rays did not show a fracture in his ribs. This is a positive sign, but not an indication that he is anywhere close to playing next week.

The Packers ruled quarterback Aaron Rodgers questionable to return with an apparent oblique/ribs injury.

By video, Green Bay's star passer appeared to suffer the injury early in the third quarter on a sack.

He was hit in the right oblique/ribs area and appeared to be grimacing and holding that area throughout the game before exiting.

The Pro Football Docs expect the 39-year-old to sit out the rest of the contest because of the location of the injury and the size of the Packers' deficit in the fourth quarter.

The injury can be played through with an injection, but with the Packers' record the team may choose to play it safe and get young QB Jordan Love some playing experience.

Rodgers revealed on Wednesday that he suffered a right thumb fracture in Week 5 but the Pro Football Docs detailed how he is now healthy and clear of the injury.

The Packers head to Chicago to face the Bears in Week 13.
