The Rockies put star leftfielder Kris Bryant on the 10-day IL as he continues his bout with back soreness.Bryant has not played since April 25 and had one hit in his previous 14 at-bats before he was sidelined with a stiff back. The former NL MVP underwent an MRI that came back clean, according to Patrick Sanders of The Denver Post, so hopefully his IL stint is a short one. His placement is retroactive to April 26, so he could be eligible to return as early as next Friday.Colorado, 10-9, inked Bryant to a surprising $182 million contract last offseason that keeps the 30-year-old in purple and black through 2028.Sam Hillard and Connor Joe have both started in left without Bryant and top prospect Elehuris Montero has been called up to take his spot on the roster.Bryant is hitting .281 with four doubles, four RBI, and 11 runs in 57 at-bats this season, but has yet to hit a home run and has struck out 12 times.
