All eyes have been on Tiger Woods during his practice sessions at Augusta ahead of his tee off Thursday morning at the Masters. The most noticeable difference hasn't been the slight limp at times, but his choice of foot attire.Woods, who has been draped in Nike since emerging on the PGA Tour, has worn two different pairs of FootJoy shoes during his practice rounds and will presumably wear FootJoy the rest of his time at Augusta. The 46-year-old talked to reporters Tuesday about the shoes saying, I have very limited mobility now with the rods and plates and screws that are in my leg. I needed something different, something that allowed me to be more stable. That’s what I’ve gone to.”He also said he’s working with Nike on a new design and expects “something soon.” Some have pointed out that the FootJoy shoe looks to have more padding in the heel, likely helping Woods with the repetition of walking 18 holes four days in a row. He has not done that in the public eye since the crash that almost cost him his right leg less than 14 months ago.The Sports Injury Central doctors have detailed the various medical hurdles facing Woods in his return to Augusta, a notoriously hilly course that is even difficult for healthy golfers to walk day after day.It is great to see Woods around the course enjoying golf again, but the Sports Injury Central doctors note that he walks with a slight limp when ascending or descending hills. He also seems to be using a golf club as a cane at times.Certainly no one is doubting his golfing ability, as he has looked more than able to compete with his ball striking and short game.It would be a fitting end to his recovery story to get his sixth green jacket this weekend, but his recovery is not quite over and his choice to change shoes alludes to that fact.Woods tees off alongside Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann Thursday morning. When asked earlier in the week if he believes he can win his first tournament back he replied, “I do.”
