Becky Lynch fought through a separated right shoulder injury and finished her WWE Summerslam match against Bianca Belair last Sunday despite holding her shoulder and being visible pain. By video, our team of doctors are certain Lynch suffered a separated shoulder and it likely happened when Belair slammed her to the mat with her arm outstretch to break her fall. While WWE scripts their fights, the stunts are real and injuries often occur during those stunts, according to Dr. David Chao – who has past experience providing medical care to wrestlers.A separated shoulder, also known as a an AC Joint sprain, are common for athletes in all sports. While it’s being reported that there’s a 50% chance she’ll need surgery, our team of doctors do not believe she requires surgery to fix the injury. In fact, Lynch will be ready to fight on September 3 for WWE Clash at the Castle, WWE’s first time in the United Kingdom. We don’t stop working. We simply adjust the work. pic.twitter.com/YeS1VCHCBa— The Man (@BeckyLynchWWE) August 3, 2022 It’s likely she’ll be able to wrestle 100% comfortably and the shoulder will have no affect on her. However, if it’s not healed, there are pain-numbing options that can be safely delivered to the shoulder. This is very typical in contact sports like football and hockey. In 2006 Lynch suffered a head injury and laceration above her eye. It caused her blurred vision, loud buzzing, and severe headaches. She decided to not wrestle for 6 years before signing with the WWE in 2013. After giving birth to her daughter in December of 2020, Lynch has wrested very consistently over the last year. This injury shouldn’t keep Lynch out of the gym for long. Many eyes will be on her as the WWE goes to Cardiff, Wales in September.
