Blues' Goaltender Jordan Binnington Likely Out Rest of 2nd Round With MCL Sprain

The St. Louis Blues lost 5-2 to the Avalanche in Game 3 and may have lost starting goalie Jordan Binnington for the remainder of the series.

Jordan Binnington Injury Update

By video, the fifth-year goaltender suffered a left knee MCL sprain in a collision with Blues defenseman Calle Rosen and Colorado center Nazem Kadri, according to Dr. Walt Lowe and Dr. David Chao.

Binnington tested his knee out after the collision, but appeared to be in pain and was removed from the game for Ville Husso.

Husso took over at the 13:15 mark and gave up his first goal roughly four minutes later.

He allowed four goals on 23 shots the remainder of the game, with the Avalanche winning 5-2.

Binnington's injury, which appeared to include damage to his PCL as well, will likely keep him out of the remainder of the series, said Chao.

After the game, Binnington reportedly threw a water bottle at Kadri during the postgame interview.

The series resumes on Monday with Game 4 in St. Louis.

Blues Stanly Cup Odds

The Blues are +550 to win the series and +3000 to win the Stanley Cup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

I've talked to two people who confirmed it was indeed Jordan Binnington who threw the water bottle at Nazem Kadri.
