Russell Wilson Injury: Broncos QB Suffers Head Injury Against Chiefs

Update: Wilson was ruled out with a concussion, likely knocking him out at least next week given the Broncos' record.

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson appeared to suffer a concussion early in the fourth quarter against the Chiefs.

Wilson appeared to be knocked unconscious when he slammed his head on the grass on a 14-yard scramble. He exhibited clear symptoms of concussion, but was able to walk off the field.

A close-up view of his face after suffering the blow appeared to show him disoriented.

Brett Rypien is in at quarterback.

The Broncos face the Cardinals at home in Week 15 and could be without Wilson for that game.

This season, roughly 25% of players have cleared concussion protocol before the week's next game.

The 34-year-old has not suffered a reported concussion in his career, but the Seahawks did get fined for breach of concussion protocol in 2017.

Wilson remained on the sideline and had a visible bump on his head.

This hematoma is not a big concern as common to have such swelling after bursting a superficial blood vessel on forehead. Not directly related to brain injury.
