Russell Gage Jr. Injury: Bucs WR Suffers Concussion, Immobilized After Late-Game Hit

The Tampa Bay medical staff immobilized and carted off 26-year-old Russell Gage Jr. after the Buccaneers' wide receiver appeared to suffer a head and neck injury on an incompletion in the fourth quarter.

Gage Jr. reportedly suffered a concussion and was taken to a local hospital for additional tests on his neck.

The hope/expectation is those tests come back clean, according to the Pro Football Docs.

By video, the Pro Football Docs do not have concern for paralysis or a serious neck injury for Gage. The use of the spine board was likely a precaution and Gage appeared to have movement in his extremities when carted off.

Gage slipped and rolled attempting to catch a Tom Brady pass and landed in a seated position when Cowboys' safety Donovan Wilson dove from behind with an outstretched arm to break up the pass.

He had 2 catches for 10 yards on 8 targets before the injury.

The five-year pro finished his second season of a three-year, $30 million deal with the Buccaneers.
