Update: Clark is out for the season with a torn Achilles, confirming our doctors' thoughts that he will not return for the NCAA Tournament.
UCLA men's basketball clocked in at No. 2 in the country on Monday as conference championship week begins but remain in limbo awaiting test results after Jaylen Clark's unspecified right foot foot injury on Saturday night.
Based on multiple video angles of the injury, Clark will likely miss the Bruins' PAC-12 Tournament starting on March 9 and the NCAA Tournament later this month, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.
The injury mechanism was consistent with an Achilles tendon tear, which would knock him out for the tournament and a majority of next season.
The junior starting guard and defensive hound appeared to suffer the injury on a swipe-and-score with 17:53 left in the season finale and Clark suddenly limped off the floor and later returned with a walking boot and crutches.
The 21-year-old averaged 13 points, six rebounds, and 2.6 steals in 30 regular season games for UCLA, which is in line for one of the four No. 1 seeds with a strong showing in the conference championship.
