Update: Unfortunately for the Jets, Aaron Rodgers' Achilles tendon tear has been confirmed. He will miss the remainder of the season but be ready for the start of the 2024 season.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a lower left leg injury on his fourth play from scrimmage with the team and will not return to the game.
By video, the veteran QB appeared to suffer a left Achilles tendon rupture when he planted and attempted to avoid the sack, according to the Pro Football Docs.
The 39-year-old was carted to the locker room and was in a walking boot shortly after being examined. These are all signs, along with the video, that he suffered an Achilles tendon tear and is likely done for the season.
By video, the injury occurred with an eccentric load as there was a player on his back when he planted his left foot and his calf appeared to ripple.

Rodgers will undergo an MRI to confirm the injury on Tuesday, but the team will know through examination, palpation and a Thompson's test. He underwent X-rays, which came back negative, but an X-ray only rules out an ankle fracture.
The former Packers quarterback was initially deemed questionable to return with an ankle injury, then was ruled out early in the second quarter.
Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins' Achilles injury was also labeled ankle in-game, but the Achilles tendon tear was feared shortly after the game and confirmed upon MRI.
Rodgers suffered a left calf strain in training camp on Aug. 15, but was not limited in practice leading up to his Monday night debut. He also dealt with a right calf injury early in OTAs at the end of July.
New York will continue the season with Zach Wilson at quarterback.
Rodgers threw for 3,695 yards with 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 17 games last year for the Packers.
