Superstar Mike Trout left Tuesday's game with the Red Sox in the third inning with left groin tightness.
Trout appeared to slow up while running out of the batter's box on a double.
He successfully made it to second base but interim manager Phil Nevin nonetheless inserted Jo Adell as a pinch runner.
Trout missed much of last season with a calf strain that appeared serious at the time.
Luckily, this injury doesn't appear severe, but even a minor groin strain can result in a 10-day IL stint.
Muscle tightness often turns into a strain, which was likely why the Angels decided to play it safe and remove him from the contest.
He will likely undergo an MRI tonight to determine the severity of the injury.
His teammate, Shohei Ohtani, left a contest with groin tightness on May 1 but was able to avoid a trip to the IL or even a missed game.
Trout was 1-26 over his previous eight games, dropping his OPS over 100 points.
He smacked a home run to center field in his first at-bat on Tuesday.
